What is Human Growth Hormone?

Human Growth hormone is the hormone that is created in the pituitary gland of the brain that causes cells in your body to reproduce, regenerate, and grow. It directly causes growth of muscles, increased basal metabolic rate, loss of visceral and body fat, boosted immune system, and increased conversion of thyroid hormone T4 to T3.

Why is Growth Hormone important?

Growth hormone is one of the master hormones that allows for optimal health. Without growth hormone, systems slow down and become dysfunctional. Growth hormone steadily declines with age. It is highest in your childhood years and plateaus at age 20. Throughout the rest of your life, it decreases by approximately 14% per decade. This decrease is worsened by obesity, high carbohydrate diets, sedentary lifestyle, and chronic disease. Growth Hormone deficiency accelerates the aging process. Sermorelin has proven to restore growth hormone back to youthful levels regardless of age.

What is Sermorelin?

Sermorelin is a protein that is nearly identical to your own body’s version of Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH). As you can probably tell from the name, GHRH stimulates the pituitary to release adequate amounts of Growth Hormone. Therefore, Sermorelin is not actual growth hormone. Instead, it enhances your own body’s production of Growth Hormone. Because it does not replace your own body’s production of growth hormone, it does not cause you to become dependent on the medication. Quite the contrary actually. After completing a round of Sermorelin, your growth hormone levels should remain elevated for weeks after completion. It will inevitably trickle back to your previously deficient levels if you have not made lifestyle changes that will boost production of growth hormone.

How is Sermorelin administered?

Since Sermorelin is a bioidentical shortened version of GHRH, it is a protein. Proteins cannot be swallowed as your stomach destroys it. Therefore, it must be injected into the body. The injection is subcutaneous (Read: Just beneath the skin), and a tiny insulin needle is used to administer the protein. It causes minimal discomfort for less than 5 seconds. In fact, mosquito bites hurt worse than this injection.

The injection is administered just before you go to sleep since your largest spike of Growth Hormone is overnight. Sermorelin enhances this spike to be higher and longer.

How does Sermorelin work?

Sermorelin is a medication that boosts your own natural Growth Hormone production from your pituitary gland, which is the master hormone gland found in the brain. Growth hormone is responsible for many essential functions. Some of its potential effects:

  • Improved quality of sleep
  • Increased energy
  • Increases basal metabolic rate
  • Builds muscle
  • Hastens fat loss
  • Skin tightening / wrinkles
  • Better Stamina
  • More Focus / Mental Clarity
  • Increases Bone density
  • Improves immune function
  • Quickens regeneration and healing

How does Sermorelin help me with weight loss and muscle building?

Sermorelin increases your Growth Hormone levels, which has all of the benefits listed above. Primarily, it augments weight loss with a fitness program. It helps you build and recover muscles quicker. As you increase muscle mass, your basal metabolic rate increases (resting caloric consumption), and you lose more weight. It also causes adipose tissue (fat cells) to release energy particles into the blood stream. This causes increasing energy levels and shrinking fat tissue.

Is everyone a candidate for Sermorelin?

Nearly anyone can take Sermorelin – males and females included. It is a bioidentical version of GHRH, so it responds to your own body’s stimulus. You may not be a candidate if your body already has enough Growth Hormone. Sermorelin cannot produce more Growth Hormone than is needed. Therefore, it is very safe. There are several factors that lower natural Growth Hormone levels. If you have any of the criteria below, you will likely respond very well to Sermorelin:

  • Overweight / Obese
  • Hormone Disturbances (Low Testosterone, Low Thyroid, Menopause)
  • Advancing Age (over 40)
  • Sedentary Lifestyle or Limited Exercise
  • Current or Previous Smoker
  • Insomnia, Poor Quality Sleep, Sleep Apnea
  • High carbohydrate diet or High Blood Sugar (Diabetes)

How do I get tested for Growth Hormone deficiency?

Your Growth hormone level can be tested by obtaining a blood sample. We do not actually test for Human Growth Hormone as growth hormone levels are highly volatile throughout the day. Instead, we test a level called Insulin-like Growth Factor (or IGF‑1).   IGF-1 is directly created in response to growth hormone. It is stable in the blood stream throughout the day, so it is a more predictive representation of the total amount of growth hormone released per day.

What side effects can I expect?

There are minimal side effects of Sermorelin. The GHRP2 peptide can stimulate hunger pangs within 15 minutes of injection. It typically fades after about 10-20 minutes. Otherwise, you should only expect beneficial effects with Sermorelin and its related peptides.

How much does Sermorelin cost?

The price changes depending on the dosage and other added hormones like GHRP2 and GHRP6. One vial typically lasts 4 weeks, but we are able to create alternative dosing regimens in order to customize your therapy.

How long can I use Sermorelin?

Technically, you can continue Sermorelin indefinitely. Since this hormone causes up-regulation of your DNA in the pituitary, after approximately 6 months, you can begin lowering the dosage or frequency of your injections. Options include, skipping a month between vials, injecting 3-5 times per week instead of daily, or decreasing the amount injected each night. Our team will help you decide which blend of products to use, how often and how much to inject.

What are the differences between Sermorelin and Human Growth Hormone (HGH)?

Sermorelin is a drastically different product from Human Growth Hormone (HGH). Sermorelin enhances your own body’s production of HGH. Conversely, injecting HGH replaces your own body’s production, so your body stops making it since ample amounts of HGH is already available in the bloodstream. HGH injections cause a “rebound effect.” When you stop injecting, your natural HGH production will be extremely low for weeks while it “wakes up” the DNA required to produce it. Sermorelin does not cause a rebound effect. In fact, it has a lasting effect on HGH production, which is the opposite of what occurs with HGH injections. Another key difference between HGH and Sermorelin is that HGH does not have a ceiling effect. If you inject more HGH, then you get higher HGH levels. With Sermorelin, you can inject more Sermorelin, but you may not get a proportionate rise in HGH production. By adding GHRP2 and / or GHRP6, you can raise the bar of HGH production beyond Sermorelin’s ability.

What is GHRP2 and GHRP6?

GHRP2 and GHRP6 are peptides that help boost the amount of Growth Hormone produced in addition to the Sermorelin. They have a synergistic effect when injected together.

GHRP2 has an additional healing effect on tendons, muscles, and ligaments.

GHRP6 has been known to increase muscle mass more than GHRP2 and Sermorelin, so it is frequently used for muscle building. GHRP6 can be used at high dosages without Sermorelin to build muscle.

The combination of Sermorelin, GHRP2, and GHRP6 help boost the number of cells that release HGH, and it boosts how much HGH is produced by each cell.

How do I mix the Sermorelin bottles?

It is very important to mix the Sermorelin correctly as you can destroy the peptide with improper handling or mixing. The Sermorelin comes in a freeze-dried vial. You need to mix sterile water into the Sermorelin vial very slowly and careful to allow it to dissolve without being destroyed.

Mixing instructions (Ignore if already mixed):

  1. Remove aluminum casing from top of both vials (Water and Sermorelin).
  2. Wipe rubber top of Bacteriostatic Water Vial with alcohol pad.
  3. Use syringe to draw 6mL of water from Bacteriostatic Water.
  4. Pull back on syringe to include 2mL of air (plunger at 8mL).
  5. Wipe rubber top of Sermorelin Vial with alcohol pad.
  6. Flip Sermorelin Vial upside down.
  8. Slide needle through rubber top of Sermorelin Vial.
  9. Allow air and water to slowly fill vial over 60 seconds.
  10. Swirl vial gently to help dissolve any remaining freeze-dried Sermorelin.
  11. Place in refrigerator.

How do I administer Sermorelin to myself?

Administration Instructions:

  1. Wipe top of Sermorelin Vial with alcohol pad.
  2. Flip Sermorelin Vial upside down.
  3. Remove plunger cap and needle protector from syringe.
  4. Insert needle into rubber top of Sermorelin Vial.
  5. Draw back on plunger slowly.
  6. Starting dose for all vials is 20Units (unless instructed otherwise).
  7. Wipe area of skin to be injected with alcohol pad.
Most common area is around your bellybutton. Stay at least 1 inch away from bellybutton for better absorption. Rotate injection sites.
  8. Pinch area of skin to be injected with fingers.
  9. Jab needle quickly through the skin to the hub.
  10. Inject Sermorelin slowly over 2-3 seconds.
  11. Remove and dispose of needle (see below how to dispose).

How do I dispose of my needles and syringes?

There are several ways to dispose of your needles. In Texas, you can put your needles in a thick plastic or glass bottle such as bleach container, coke bottle, wine bottle. Then, you tape the lid closed and throw it in the trash (not recycle). Another option is to buy a sharps disposal bin. These can be found at most pharmacies. You can drop your sharps container off at the office, and we will dispose of it for you. These are typically not reusable.

Tips to Maintaining Viable Sermorelin

Sermorelin is an active peptide and degrades over time. It degrades faster if it is exposed to heat, light, or vigorous movement. If you always keep your Sermorelin vial in the refrigerator, it will extend its shelf life. The pharmacy guarantees their product for 28 days, but it can be viable for longer if you maintain it well.

If the vial turns cloudy or discolored at any point, it has gone bad and you should discard the vial. Do not shake the vial as it will destroy the peptide. If you notice that your Sermorelin is not working, it may have been inactivated by time, temperature, or movement.

How do I travel with Sermorelin?

Traveling with Sermorelin is very similar to traveling with Insulin for Diabetics. Look up tips online for traveling with Insulin and follow the same rules. Your Sermorelin must stay cold, so you will need to put cold packs with your vial. You can carry-on your Sermorelin, but you may need to answer some questions at TSA. International travel might be even trickier. If you check-in luggage, you should put your needles and syringes in the checked luggage. You can carry on your needles, but TSA may question you.

Since a negative rebound effect does not happen when skipping Sermorelin injections, I usually encourage people to leave it at home. Use it while you are in town, and take a break while you are out of town.
